Privacy policy

Name Circle is an app that helps parents choose a baby name together with their family. It’s made by AJ Costa (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your information, and there are no ads or tracking.

What we collect

• Your email address, so you can sign in with a one-time code.
• The name you choose to show your family (for example “Mom” or “Grandpa Joe”).
• Your family’s choices in the app: the family’s last name and any middle name you try out, whether the lists are for a girl or a boy, who is in the family and their role, everyone’s votes, and which round you’re on. Everyone in your family can see this information; people outside your family can’t.
• Whether your family has the full version. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details.
• Basic technical records: when you sign in or save a vote, our service providers record things like the time, your IP address and any errors, to keep the app secure and working. These records are kept for a short time.

We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

Only to run Name Circle: to sign you in, show your family’s votes to your family, work out the results, provide the full version when your family buys it, respond when you contact us, and keep the app secure. We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.

Who helps us run the app

We use a few service providers, who process information only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: stores your account and your family’s data.
• Resend: sends the sign-in code emails.
• RevenueCat, Apple and Google: process and confirm the full-version purchase.
• Cloudflare: hosts this website and handles email to us.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on servers in the United States. It’s sent over encrypted connections, and our database only lets each person see their own family’s information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account, your name and your votes. If you were the last person in your family, we delete the whole family too.

Your choices

• Delete your account at any time in the app: tap Family, then Your account, then Delete account. Or email us and we’ll do it for you.
• Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have additional rights. Contact us and we’ll help.

Children

Name Circle is for parents and their adult family members. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the changes are significant.
